Network Engineer

Senior Network Engineer – Edinburgh- 12 Months contract- £550 per day

Change Digital have an exciting contract opportunity on behalf of one of Edinburgh’s highly regarded employers who are about to start a Data center move and require an experienced Cisco Network/Firewall specialist initially for 12 months with potential to last 24 months project duration. The contract will involve being on site at their data center 3-4 days per week for the first 2-3 months of the contract, however the company are flexible, so there will be some remote opportunity too. Skills required should include but not be limited to:

Requirements

• Experience in a fast paced network infrastructure environment.

• An in depth understanding of networking technologies, including (but not limited to): Cisco DNA, Cisco WLAN, VXLAN, SDWAN, Unified Communications,

• Experience supporting Cisco technologies

• Experience supporting Firewalls

• Experience supporting wireless technologies

• In depth understanding of ITIL and IT processes, including incident, problem and change management

• Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal

• Palo Alto PCNSA or equivalent working experience

• Cisco CCNP or equivalent working experience

• VMware network qualification/experience

The successful candidate will be involved in maintenance, upgrades, and ongoing improvements of existing technologies, as well as network-related support escalation. Project work including staging, testing and installation of the company’s new greenfield site in Edinburgh as well as supporting the companies drive to cloud. Experience of Palo Alto and Cisco technologies are key to this delivery.
