Change Public Practice are delighted to be partnering with a top independent Scottish CA firm in the recruitment of an experienced Accounts Assistant for their business advisory team. Based in Edinburgh, this firm have an excellent reputation in the market for nurturing and supporting top talent and this newly created role will allow you to work directly with management who will be able to provide support and guide you in developing your career further.
 
This position will offer you the opportunity to work with clients in a wide range of sectors and to build and maintain these relationships. This would suit an experienced Accounts Assistant who not only has the ability to produce accounts but is able to successfully analyse and review the figures and communicate this well to clients.
 
Ideally, you will be part the way through you accountancy qualification (AAT, ACCA, CA) and looking to continue this in your next role, or perhaps to begin a qualification to coincide with your practical experience.
 
Key responsibilities in this role include:
· Preparation of statutory accounts for a variety of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
· Also tasked with management reporting for client base
· VAT compliance, prepared both from the office and out at clients premises
· Additionally, you be be involved in assisting senior members of staff on Audits for charity and not for profit clients
 
To be considered for this role you will:
· Have recent experience working in a practice environment (ideally 12 months exposure minimum)
· Experience of preparing annual accounts is essential
· Exposure to agricultural and farming clients is beneficial but not essential
· Good IT skills including Sage or Xero experience
· Client focused individual who is keen to develop good working relationships with client
