Accounts Payable Manager l Edinburgh l 40k - 45k l Hybrid

The role:

Change Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting with the recruitment of an Accounts Payable (AP) Manager for our Edinburgh based client with hybrid and flexible working. Reporting to the Head of Shared Service Centre (SSC), you would be overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, driving process efficiency and delivering exceptional financial services to internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and manage SSC accounts payable processes
  • Lead all finance aspects of procure-to-pay processes
  • Monitor and assess Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for transactional teams
  • Utilise KPI metrics to monitor, report, and communicate key performance measures
  • Handle payments, financial reviews, and reconciliations within reporting deadlines
  • Address escalations by liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure outstanding service delivery
  • Prepare and present performance reports to the Head of SSC and stakeholders
  • Take ownership of end-to-end SSC processes, desktop procedures and training materials
  • Enhance governance controls across the team
  • Implement group finance policies and procedures, reporting exceptions or non-conformance
  • Assist with compliance submissions (e.g., VAT, corporation tax) and statutory accounts preparation
  • Collaborate with auditors as needed
  • Lead and inspire an effective team, ensuring optimal resource utilisation
  • Oversee performance management and competency development of direct reports
  • Drive improvement initiatives to enhance the value of the SSC and finance systems proposition

Key skills and experience:

  • 5+ years' experience managing AP teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Highly flexible, customer-oriented, and a robust team player
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounts payable reconciliation
  • Proficiency in dealing with multiple currencies
  • Understanding of relevant country accounting practices and regulatory environments
  • Strong people management and development skills
  • Experience with high-volume invoice processing and automated approval workflows
  • Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics desirable
