Assistant Accountant

Change Accountancy and Finance are partnering with a growing company based in central Edinburgh for the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll be looking after the financial management of a project portfolio. This is the ideal position for an active studier (ACCA, CIMA, CA) looking for excellent career and studies development as study support is provided.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing month-end reporting, including posting month-end journals
• Performing daily finance and month-end activities
• Supporting the preparation of budget and forecasts
• Producing monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and analysis
• Responding and assisting with queries raised by internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting with preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required

Requirements for the role:

• 3+ years in a previous finance role
• Part qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CA) and active studier
• Proven track record of reporting to senior stakeholders
• Experience preparing and reviewing month end journals
• Proactive and self-starter individual
