Operational Risk Manager

Flexible location (Newcastle/Edinburgh/Glasgow) with hybrid working (2 days per week in the office)

My client is recruiting an Operational Risk Manager to join it's Conduct & Controls team.

In this Operational Risk role, you will provide advice and guidance on all operational and strategic risk matters, helping to maintain the integrity of and compliance with the risk management framework.

You’ll be instrumental in embedding risk knowledge and understanding across the business through regular communication and ongoing knowledge sharing.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the business has a robust risk and control environment, which is aligned with the Risk Management Framework and embedded across the business.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing technical expertise to support the business with the management of risks, controls, issues, and events.
• Facilitating the half-yearly Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) attestation exercise across the business
• Analysing risk data to provide insight and identify opportunities to simplify and add value.
• Coordinating the production of the pack for the Risk Forum.
• Planning and prioritising work to meet commitments and foreseeing and resolving potential bottlenecks and delays.
• Engaging in local risk fora, providing credible risk opinion and expert knowledge of the Risk Management Framework.

Ideal experience

• Considerable experience working with Risk Management Frameworks and undertaking risk and control self-assessment. (RCSA's)
• Confident communicator with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, building trust and gaining commitment through integrity, cooperation, and flexibility.
• Ability to translate risk opinion into measurable and timely actions.
• Initiative-taking mindset with excellent planning and time management skills.
