Group Accountant (12 month FTC) - Edinburgh - £60k - £75k - Hybrid working
Change Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a Group Accountant on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) for our Edinburgh-based client with flexible & hybrid working, a salary of circa £60k - £75k and a comprehensive benefits package.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role entails providing internal and external stakeholders with information on the financial performance of the Group, including statutory reporting and activities to drive continuous process improvement.
This role would be well suited to Qualified Accountants who have experience working within complex, growing companies and using Microsoft Dynamics who are looking to broaden and enhance their skillset in a diverse and dynamic organisation at a key stage. Key responsibilities:
Support and manage group reporting preparation including balance sheet, profit and loss (P&L), internal and external reports and cashflow statements
Assist the FP&A team with month-end reporting
Manage the general ledger including oversight of the monthly consolidations
Support with reconciliations of intercompany loan balances
Responsible for year-end audit including timetable planning for delivery of the annual consolidated and entity financial statements within deadlines
Undertake the delivery of the annual consolidated financial statements for the Group
Conduct annual review of accounting policies and prepare new policies as required
Support tax reporting preparation
Support the implementation of ERP system
Assist with the implementation of best-practice processes and controls across the Group
Deliver all group reporting requirements as requested by internal and external stakeholders
Responsible for compliance with all statutory and regulatory filings
Provide monthly management accounts variance analysis and commentary to identify and drive process and control improvements
Manage the Junior Group Accountant and temporary audit resources
Key skills and experience:
Relevant Accountancy Qualification with 1+ years post-qualified experience
Knowledge of IFRS
Comprehensive knowledge of statutory and operational accounting
Demonstrable consolidation accounting experience
Experience in multi-currency reporting
Skilled user of Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Excel
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse and communicate information in a clear manner to non-finance internal and external stakeholders
