In-house Personal Tax Accountant
I'm thrilled to partner with a prestigious global law firm with a remarkable history spanning over 200 years in recruiting a Personal Tax Accountant role.
Role Overview:
The Tax Accountant will be joining their Partnership Tax team based in Glasgow. This dynamic team is responsible for providing strategic tax advice, tax reporting, managing tax risks, and ensuring compliance with global tax regulations in a timely and professional manner.
As a Tax Accountant, you'll collaborate closely with a well-established team in the UK and work alongside local Finance Managers across the EMEA region. Reporting to the Senior Tax Reserves Manager, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a career in International Tax compliance and advisory work while contributing to the health and internal tax reporting of their firm's Balance Sheet.
Your Role:
The Tax Accountant role offers exciting responsibilities, including:
• Assisting in preparing personal tax reserve calculations for Partners of the firm
• Working as part of a team responsible for preparing UK partner income tax returns
• Preparing taxable profit allocations for non-UK resident partner returns
• Assisting in the tax compliance and reporting of various geographical locations for individuals and corporates, liaising with local tax advisers
• Monthly reporting and reconciling tax accounts within the firm's Balance Sheet
• Monitoring tax payments across various geographical locations, working closely with local Finance Managers
• Working as part of a team to prepare the non-resident partners' US tax returns (US tax experience not required - training will be provided)
• Handling ad-hoc tasks to support other managers within the Partnership tax team
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Experience in accounting and tax knowledge, ideally involved in UK tax return preparation
• High proficiency in technical accounting and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of Excel and experience with accounting and tax return filing software
• Experience in an international environment is desirable
• Preferably ATT/ CIOT/ACCA qualified
• Experience in a wider tax range and accounts preparation is valued, allowing individuals involvement across various tasks
