Assistant Accountant

Change Financial Services are working with a boutique financial services firm in Edinburgh to recruit an Assistant Accountant to their team. Applicants must be active studiers and support will be provided to complete their professional exams. The client work across a range of funds and the successful applicant will be responsible for the production of monthly accounts and analysis to support client requests and reporting. Additionally, interacting with the wider business and being confident engaging with clients is expected, with the change to really enhance your career. Key duties of the role will include;

Assisting in the production of monthly financial statements for a range of clients within your portfolio

• Quarterly management accounts production with supporting commentary
• Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and reporting to senior management
• Responsible for processing all invoices and expenses for key clients
• Responsible for payment run preparation and processing, working closely with wider finance
• Handling a range of queries and responding as required

Applicants for the role will be able to show progression in their career to date as well as ambition to become a qualified accountant. Excellent communication, both verbal and written, is key and will be looked for at interview stage, as well as an interest in fund services and wider financial services.

In return, support will be provided for professional qualifications and access to a range of accounting duties to assist in becoming qualified and giving real, rounded, exposure as you do.

Salary: up to £40,000 – depending on qualification stage
