Change Accountancy and Finance are partnering with one of Scotland’s leading legal firms to recruit a credit control manager. Based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow with occasional travel between the cities, the role will have responsibility for managing a team and building strong relationships with both Partners and External parties to ensure effective debtor days are adhered to, as well as compliance with credit policy for the business.

Communication skills are key for this role, not only in developing effective relationships but managing the team with ongoing development. Key duties of the role will cover the following;

  • Responsible for managing partner relationships to advise on payment terms
  • Management of an established team of credit controllers and administrators
  • Maintaining the aged debtors ledger and reporting on this monthly to partners
  • Working closely to ensure debtor is collected effectively, whilst maintaining relationships and the complexities in these
  • Weekly one to ones to discuss current ledger status and issues to be escalated
  • Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team to ensure effective allocation and accurate balances
  • Setting in place credit policy and working with the business to hold debt reviews on a period basis
  • Responsibility for assessing credit worthiness and payment plans
  • Monthly MI reporting of cash position and representing at internal meetings
  • Seeking to enhance current processes and policies as necessary

Applicants for this role must be able to show team management experience in a credit control / collections role and discuss their approach to relationship building to ensure effective management of the debtors ledger. Additionally, taking ownership for reporting and controls, with a background in reviewing credit limits is key.

Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 + excellent benefits and bonus potential.
