Change Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a Finance Assistant for our Edinburgh-based client on a part-time (3 days a week) permanent basis. The role offers a salary range of circa 30k – 35k full-time equivalent (FTE), generous leave allowance, hybrid working, family healthcare and much more.
Within the role, you would have full ownership of the transactional side of the finance function as part of a small but supportive team during an exciting period of growth for the business. This role would be well suited to candidates with experience in payroll, particularly using Xero, who are looking to join a business that champions career progression and personal development.
Review and process purchase invoices and staff expenses with appropriate authorisation and coding
Create fortnightly supplier payment schedules for approval and authorisation
Process monthly sales invoices with timely income collection
Complete daily / weekly bank reconciliations and submit monthly VAT returns
Manage monthly payroll and set up monthly salary payments and submissions of appropriate returns
Ensure all pensions, salary sacrifice, benefits etc are managed correctly
Support year-end audit, annual budgeting and re-forecasting where appropriate
Support ad-hoc processing, reporting and analysis as required
Key skills and experience:
Demonstrable experience running payroll (Xero desirable)
Proven track record in similar transactional finance roles
Ability to work effectively within a small team and use own initiative to suggest improvements
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships
