Tax Manager

Change Accountancy and Finance are partnering with a successful firm within professional services for the recruitment of a Tax Manager to join their Personal Tax team. Working alongside the Tax Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a wide range of tax compliance and advisory services for clients. This role requires expertise in personal tax matters and a deep understanding of UK tax legislation. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing strategic tax advice and solutions to clients while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Manage and review personal tax compliance work, including tax returns and computations
• Provide expert advice on personal tax matters, addressing client inquiries and concerns
• Assist in developing tax planning strategies to optimise clients' tax positions and minimize liabilities
• Complete Capital Gains Tax calculation from information obtained internally or from the client;
• Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance and advising clients accordingly
• Mentor and support junior members of the tax team, fostering their professional development
• Assist the Director/Partners with ad hoc duties or queries as required

Skills and experience you'll ideally have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance, or related field
• Professional qualification (e.g., ATT, CTA) preferred
• Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation and regulations, with a focus on personal tax
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients
• Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff

Salary offered for the role up to £57,000 per annum plus benefits. Hybrid working week from the Edinburgh office - Glasgow candidates are also welcomed to apply, with occasional visits to Edinburgh office.
