Head of Technology

Are you an experienced Senior Manager or Head of Technology ?

Do you have an electronic engineering background ?

If so I have a fantastic opportunity with an innovative company in Edinburgh who are on the verge of moving from R&D to commercial success.

You will be leading a small multi-disciplinary team of developers and engineers and you will be evolving their solutions utilising your project management and product life-cycle skills to bring them to market.

You will have an engineering background, be it Micro Electronics, Semiconductors, PCB’s etc.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading the Engineering team
• Programme Management of:
  • Silicon design & manufacturing delivery
  • Creation of ISO9001 compliant Product Design Control processes, working with the Head of Quality
  • Scaled module & Instrument manufacture
  • Software platform / analytics design & delivery
  • Tech integration of fluidics / focusing / silicon / Instruments

• Providing support to the engineering and analytics teams
  • HDL design/delivery
  • Firmware design / delivery
  • Software design/delivery
  • Analytics design / delivery
  • Electronics design and delivery
  • IP generation and maintenance
  • Porting aspects of the design to an ISO9001 Design Control process
• Prioritising your time between Programme management, providing technical support and people management

Required skills and experience should include:

• Degree in Engineering or Life sciences
• Project & product management experience
• Sound ISO9001 understanding
• Product delivery, creating commercial roadmaps
• Ability to lead direct reports
• Printed Circuit Board level digital design (Analogue is advantageous)
• Version control (Git)
• Experience performing PCB debugging

It would be advantageous to have C/C++, C#, HDL (Verilog) or Asic skills.  Python or Matlab would also be great.
