Change Accountancy and Finance are partnering with one of Scotland’s leading innovators within the Low Carbon sector as they look to appoint a Part Time Financial Controller to their business. A unique role, with a disruptor in the market, that will play a key part across all areas of the business as they continue to grow and execute on an exciting strategy after a successful fund raise. The role will be across all areas of finance, taking responsibility for budgeting and forecasting in addition to month end close and reporting. Developing links and relationships with the business to understand its rhythm and drivers is key to aid in board level decision making and conversations, as well as taking a lead on enhancing management information and wider controls and processes.
The role is ideally suited to an individual with scale up experience, balancing the need to be hands on whilst taking a commercial and controls focus to the organisation. Previous experience in manufacturing or a product related role would be of benefit to aid in process improvement, but not essential. Wider key duties of the role will cover;
- Taking a lead role in the Financial Management of the business on a day to day and monthly basis
- Developing and reviewing a robust financial plan with budget setting as well as forecast projections
- Review and enhancement of financial models for investor and board review
- Month end close and balance sheet review to create meaningful management information for board and investor presentation
- Cash flow analysis and review of debtors and creditors
- Assisting in product costing and developing MI across multiple product lines – attention to elements such as WIP and Stock analysis
- Completing statutory returns and reporting
- Responsible for ad hoc accounting and transactional postings as required
- Strong Excel skills and ideally knowledge of Xero accounting
Applicants for the role will be able to show a strong financial background with the ability to balance being hands on, with the skills to present to investors and board members clearly. Offering insight and analysis, a basis of management accounting and budget setting will be key, with the ability to flex to the demands of a fast paced growing organisation.
In return, the post will offer the opportunity to shape processes and controls and put your stamp on a business where the role of finance is truly valued, working closely with a strong board with ambitious growth plans and the execution of their strategy.
Part Time: 2/3 days per week – flexibility on work pattern offered
Salary: £60,000 – pro rata
Hybrid Pattern: 1 day per week in office or as required
