Job Title: Internal Audit Senior
Location: Glasgow
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an experienced internal auditor looking to make a meaningful impact across a diverse range of sectors? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established professional services firm seeking an Internal Audit Senior to join their growing team in Glasgow.

About the Role

As an Internal Audit Senior, you’ll lead and deliver audit engagements for a wide variety of organisations across the UK, including public sector bodies, housing associations, charities, and educational institutions. This is a dynamic and varied role — one week you might be reviewing student wellbeing arrangements at a college, and the next, assessing gas safety processes at a housing provider.

You’ll take ownership of planning and delivering audits, provide high-quality recommendations to strengthen controls and governance, and mentor junior team members. With a client base spanning Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland, occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver internal audit assignments from start to finish
  • Supervise and review work of junior team members
  • Liaise directly with clients and attend audit committee meetings
  • Provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve client processes
  • Support business development activities
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in internal audit
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent experience
  • Ideally working towards or holding a professional qualification (e.g. CIIA)
  • Strong planning, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to coach and support junior colleagues
  • Proactive, adaptable, and motivated by making a tangible impact

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • 32 days annual leave (plus additional days for long service and special occasions)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Hybrid working (50% remote)
  • Paid professional membership fees
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with discounts and wellbeing support
  • Annual leave purchase scheme
  • Volunteering opportunities and CSR initiatives
  • Monthly recognition awards and regular social events
  • Clear career progression with mentoring and development support

Career Development

This firm is committed to nurturing talent and promoting from within. Many of their current leaders began as trainees and progressed through the ranks. You’ll be supported with structured development plans, mentoring, and early responsibility to help you grow your career.
